3rd Annual Gobble Wobble 5K Family Fun Race

Perham: At 9 a.m. on the Perham Bike Path, at the park near the softball fields. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. for this untimed run/walk event. Prize awarded for the best dressed, as well as medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in four age categories, starting at age 12. Kids 11 and under race free; all others subject to a $15 race fee with all proceeds donated to Perham's Giving Tree program. This is a United Community Bank event. Follow their Facebook page for details, including plans in case of inclement weather.

Perham: An annual tradition in Perham. Downtown at dusk (5:30 p.m.).

Christmas Market

Dent: More than 20 local vendors and artists, along with face painting, free refreshments and photos with Santa from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., then, at 8 p.m. there will be an ugly sweater and ugly hat contest with prizes, live music until midnight and door prizes. All at The Dougout.

Free Christmas Matinee

Perham: At the Comet Theatre at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m. Bring an item to donate to the local food shelf. Featured movie will be "Peter Rabbit."

Community Meal

Perham: At New Creation Lutheran Church from 5-6:30 p.m. Free meals served. Free will donations accepted.

Saturday, December 1

Otterdazzle

Ottertail: From 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. around Ottertail Community Park and the Ottertail Community Center. Pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m., vendors and crafts 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., hot food and beverages from noon to 3 p.m., 5K and kids run at noon, hay rides from 1-3 p.m., kids crafts and games from 2-5 p.m., visits with Santa from 2:30-4:30 p.m., tree lighting at 5:15 followed by a chili bar.

Tuesday, December 4

Old-Fashioned Christmas Open House

Perham: From 5-7 p.m. at the History Museum of East Otter Tail County. Refreshments, live music by the Silver Foxes, and make-and-take Christmas tree ornaments.

Defensive Driving Refresher Course

Perham: From 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Perham Public Library. A four-hour refresher course; no workbooks, no tests. Cost is $20. To register, call Denise Lillis at 218-346-3336.

Kids Christmas Party

Perham: At the Perham Center for the Arts from 1-3 p.m. Games, gifts, pictures with Santa and Elsa, and more. Organized by The 1800 Club (formerly The Zafety Club) for the fourth year in a row.

Perham Giving Tree, Nov. 14-Dec. 17

Perham: At the In Their Own Words Veterans Museum. Pick a card off the tree to anonymously purchase Christmas gifts for area children in need; deadline to return gifts/cards is Dec. 17. To participate in the Giving Tree, complete an application at the museum, located at 805 West Main Street. The Giving Tree is sponsored by the Perham Ministerial Association.

New York Mills: At East Otter Tail County Offices, 118 North Main, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The WIC program of Otter Tail County routinely holds clinics. For more information call 218-998-8324.

Monthly food shelf fundraisers at Pizza Ranch

Perham: From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the first Monday of every month. Tell the cashier when you order that you are there for the fundraiser; your receipt is your donation to the local food shelf. Sponsored by the Eastern Star Olive Branch Chapter.
