Knutson tabbed to lead Yellowjackets
Perham-The interim tag has been removed, and Kyle Knutson has been named the new head coach to the Perham Yellowjacket football team for the 2015 season.
The move was announced, and approved by the Perham-Dent School Board at a meeting on March 11.
“I am proud and excited to take on the role as head coach of the Yellowjackets. Perham has a great tradition in its football program, one that I’m honored to have been a part of for the past 10 years,” Knutson said in an e-mail. “I am humbled to follow in the footsteps of some of the outstanding coaches this program has had over its history. As a staff, we look forward to getting to work this spring, summer and into the fall to prepare for an exciting 2015 season.”
Knutson was named Interim Head Coach mid-way through the 2014 football season, after former coach Mike Jordahl resigned.
Knutson becomes the 10th head coach in the history of the storied program. He takes over a program with a 91-year mark of 405-351-13.
Knutson has 23 years of coaching experience with three schools. He was been with the Yellowjacket program for 10 years, five of those as defensive coordinator.
