Area students receive scholarships
Brunswick has award two scholarships this past month. At a local level, they awarded Kaitlyn Kane, daughter of Russ Kane the Brunswick New York Mills the Operation Scholarship for $1,000. Kane is a senior at New York Mills High School who plans to attend NDSU next fall to study architecture.
The second scholarship, the Sons and Daughters Scholarship is a Brunswick-wide scholarship. The scholarship is offered to all Brunswick employee's high school or college aged children. Applications for the program are critiqued by each students academic record, test scores and leadership abilities that are demonstrated in extracurricular activities and work record.
This year Brunswick had 210 applicants or which 48 were selected. Of the 48 that were selected there was one winner from the New York Mills location. The award was for $3,000 per student. Michael Small is the recipient of this award. Small is the son of Anita Small. He is attending the University of Minnesota Morris, majoring in Communications, Media and Rhetoric.
